Read the period before the percentage
This is a three-month spring window, March to May 2026. Savings peak in spring and autumn: summer has little consumption so there is little waste to remove, and in winter the heating is genuinely needed and can’t be switched off; the shoulder months carry the most removable waste. 89% is the highest figure we publish because of when it was measured, not because Swynnerton is a better site. Over a full year, expect a figure closer to our twelve-month result of 65%, measured 13 May 2025 to 30 April 2026.

How this was measured
Every saving above is valued at what the equipment actually drew, not at its rated power: the time a load was switched off multiplied by that load’s measured average consumption in the conditions it was running in. That average is taken across every hour in the comparison, including the hours the load drew nothing, so it accounts for the periods a thermostat would have cycled the load off anyway, which makes the figure materially smaller than rated-power arithmetic would give.
